What is Quercetin ?
Quercetin is most commonly used for conditions of the heart and blood vessels and to prevent cancer. It is also used for arthritis, bladder infections, and diabetes, but there is no strong scientific evidence to support most of these uses.
Quercetin belongs to a group of plant pigments called flavonoids that give many fruits, flowers, and vegetables their colors.Flavonoids, such as quercetin, are antioxidants. They scavenge particles in the body known as free radicals which damage cell membranes, tamper with DNA, and even cause cell death. Antioxidants can neutralize free radicals. They may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage free radicals cause. In test tubes, quercetin has strong antioxidant properties. But researchers are not sure whether taking quercetin (and many other antioxidants) has the same effects inside the body.
Quercetin may help protect against heart disease and cancer. Quercetin can also help stabilize the cells that release histamine in the body and thereby have an anti-inflammatory and antihistamine effect.
The benefits of our Quercetin
-
Quercetin has been shown to counter the harmful effect of free radicals through its strong antioxidant activity. This antioxidant effect can help the body maintain a stable state, ward off premature aging, and reduce chronic disease risk. Much of this research has been done in cells or animals, but researchers suggest the effect is likely true for humans too.
Has Antioxidant Effects:As a part of normal metabolism, the human body produces compounds called free radicals. Free radicals damage healthy cells, trigger gene mutations, accelerate aging, and increase the risk of various diseases, including heart disease and diabetes.

Protects Heart Health:Quercetin guards heart health in several ways. It has been shown to reduce both systolic (the top number) and diastolic (the bottom number) blood pressure. Quercetin can also reduce the pressure on arteries. That's important because, over time, high blood pressure can damage arteries and lead to heart disease.
Quercetin has also been shown to curb total cholesterol and triglycerides. Triglycerides are a type of fat that, in high amounts, can increase your heart disease risk. Quercetin can also counter a process called oxidation, which changes "bad" low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in ways that harden arteries. Quercetin can also help regenerate blood vessels to improve blood flow, which supports healthy heart function.
Quercetin is a polyphenolic flavonoid, which is frequently found in fruits and vegetables. The antioxidant potential of quercetin has been studied from subcellular compartments, that is, mitochondria to tissue levels in the brain. The neurodegeneration process initiates alongside aging of the neurons. It appears in different parts of the brain as Aβ plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, Lewy bodies, Pick bodies, and others, which leads to Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and other diseases. So far, no specific treatment has been identified for these diseases. Despite common treatments that help to prevent the development of disease, the condition of patients with progressive neurodegenerative diseases usually do not completely improve. Currently, the use of flavonoids, especially quercetin for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, has been expanded in animal models. It has also been used to treat animal models of neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, improvements in behavioral levels, as well as in cellular and molecular levels, decreased activity of antioxidant and apoptotic proteins, and increased levels of antiapoptotic proteins have been observed. Low bioavailability of quercetin has also led researchers to construct various quercetin-involved nanoparticles. The treatment of animal models of neurodegeneration using quercetin-involved nanoparticles has shown that improvements are observed in shorter periods and with use of lower concentrations. Indeed, intranasal administration of quercetin-involved nanoparticles, constructing superparamagnetic nanoparticles, and combinational treatment using nanoparticles such as quercetin and other drugs are suggested for future studies.
