1. WHAT IS COLLAGEN?
Collagen is the principal protein in the extracellular space found in skin and bones. Collagen consists of amino acids wound together to form triple-helices to form of elongated fibrils. Our collagen (Type I and III) is produced only from the skin or scale of selected fish.
2. WHAT IS TYPE I&III COLLAGEN?
Type I Collagen: skin, tendon, vascular ligature, organs, bone (main component of the organic part of bone)
Type III Collagen: reticulate (main component of reticular fibers), commonly found alongside type I.
3. WHY HYDROLYZED?
Hydrolyzed collagen is easier to digest. When collagen is hydrolyzed, the protein molecules are broken into smaller molecules. A hydrolyzed protein will be absorbed by the body faster than a non-hydrolyzed protein.
