Lactobacillus reuteri is a Gram-positive bacterium that naturally inhabits the gut of mammals and birds. It can be found in fermented foods, meat, and dairy products. This bacterium can grow in both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, with better growth in aerobic conditions. It can also survive in environments with nitrogen dioxide and metabolize monosaccharides.

Lactobacillus reuteri LR-G100 is extracted from naturally fermented sour milk in the Caucasus region. It is an antiallergenic and anti-pathogenic lactic acid bacterium.
